iOS 18: What to Expect and Compatible Devices

Apple is set to unveil iOS 18 at its annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2024, with a possible release in September. The new operating system is expected to introduce generative AI features and design innovations. A recent leak suggests that iOS 18 will be compatible with a wide range of iPhone models, including some older devices.

According to the leak, iOS 18 will be compatible with the following iPhone models:

iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max
iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max
iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max
iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max
iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max
iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR
iPhone SE (2nd generation), iPhone SE (3rd generation)
This list includes all models from the iPhone XR onwards, as well as the second-generation iPhone SE, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. It’s worth noting that the leak claims iOS 18 will be compatible with all the same devices as iOS 17, which should come as good news to users with older iPhone models.

Apple is expected to showcase iOS 18 at WWDC 2024 in June, with a public release likely in September alongside the rumored iPhone 16 series. The new operating system is expected to bring a range of new features and improvements, including advanced AI capabilities and potentially support for the Rich Communication Services (RCS) standard for messaging. Additionally, iOS 18 may borrow several UI components from visionOS, enhancing the overall user experience on iPhones.
