The Indian Police Force web series belongs to the Rohit Shetty Cop Universe and is now available on Prime. The series comprises 7 episodes, each with a runtime of approximately 40 to 45 minutes. In this narrative, the Delhi Police collaborates with other teams for a mission to apprehend the terrorist responsible for the attacks. Now, let’s delve into a discussion of each episode:
Episode Ranking: EP 5 > EP 6 > EP 1 > EP 2 > EP 3 > EP 7 > EP 4
Episode 1:
Have you ever seen a TV show this racy? Well, we’ve got an opener with Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe making its debut in the world of web series. Episode 1 delves into showcasing Siddharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi as powerful Delhi Police officers investigating and saving the city from terrorist attacks. The episode kicks off with a good intense mood and a promising end. No sign of Shilpa Shetty yet.
Episode 2:
It’s a decent episode that opens up with the family life of Siddharth Malhotra’s character, also features a romantic song. The later part shifts back to the investigation scenes with the introduction of powerful police officer Shilpa Shetty joining forces with Vivek Oberoi and Siddharth Malhotra. Meanwhile, the simple life of an antagonist is showcased on the other end. Although the drama slightly takes off, it’s worthwhile.
Episode 3:
Sticking to its title, this episode delivers a substantial amount of shooting scenes between the police officers and the terrorists, leading to a twist with a tragic end. Both Siddharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi have done a fantastic job. However, Shilpa Shetty’s role is quite limited, offering little substance thus far.
Episode 4:
Though the production values seem to be off, the director has engaged us with his racy screenplay by showcasing parallel investigation scenes and the drama unfolding from the Police Officers’ perspective. Simultaneously, he presents the antagonist’s love story before his malevolence is unleashed for his next mission. Siddarth Malhotra delivers commendable performance and excels in action. However, Shilpa Shetty, despite her good presence and the right attitude as a police officer, needs to refine her action sequences; her stunts seem to be off.
Episode 5:
The scenes shot in Goa were executed well. The revelation of the antagonist’s backstory added depth to the narrative, and the episode concluded on an emotional note with a touch of patriotism.
Episode 6:
The drama surrounding the Police Force gearing up to apprehend the terrorist responsible for the bomb blasts is quite intriguing. Siddarth Malhotra is doing an excellent job. While Shilpa Shetty may not excel in action, she showcases a strong performance in other aspects.
Episode 7:
The finale concludes with the typical Rohit Shetty style of shoot and chase sequences. Despite the limitations of a web series budget, he successfully executes it, providing a fitting end. The series pays a commendable tribute to the Delhi Police and sets the stage for the potential of Season 2 with the Kathmandu Mission.
Overall Verdict: With expectations, you might be slightly disappointed; however, it’s not bad either. It’s once watchable for its attempt. A decent show.
