Indian 2 Heading towards a big disaster at the Box Office

Kamal Haasan and Shankar’s Indian 2 is heading towards a big disaster at the box office. Released on July 12th, this vigilante action drama received a poor response from audiences and critics alike, a clear sign of caution for potential moviegoers. Though the film had somewhat decent openings on its first day, it saw a big drop in the numbers because of pathetic mouth talk. For three days, the film has collected over 115 Crores Gross at the worldwide box office.

Director Shankar’s decision to make the film in two parts has made Indian 2 an extended and uninteresting film, with irrational scenes attempting to transform Veerasekharan Senapathy into a superhero. Despite attempts to reduce the film’s length, the harm has already been done. The film’s global earnings on Monday did not even amount to double digits. Tamil Nadu’s revenue was limited to ₹2 cr on the same day. The combined box office income from both Telugu states on Monday barely reached ₹1 cr. After the first weekend, Telugu viewers lost interest in Indian 2, while the collections in North India were minimal. To put it simply, both the audience and the revenue figures have deemed Indian 2 a monumental box office failure.

Indian 2, helmed by Shankar, boasts a star-studded ensemble that includes Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore, and Deepa Shankar. Anirudh Ravichander has taken over music composition duties from AR Rahman for this sequel. Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies are the production companies behind the film.
