Alia Bhatt, for instance, expressed her enthusiasm on Instagram, describing the web series as “Pure magic.” Heeramandi tells the historical narrative of a distinctive locality in Lahore, Pakistan. Located within the ancient city walls, it lies near the grand Taxali Gate and south of the renowned Badshahi Mosque. During the Mughal era, Heeramandi thrived as a vibrant hub, resonating with melodious tunes, graceful dance performances, and the presence of skilled women known as tawaifs. However, as the British assumed control, Heeramandi gradually transformed, eventually gaining notoriety as a center for prostitution.
