Following the success of his action-comedy movie Turbo, the superstar will appear in the stylish action film Bazooka next. This movie also signifies the first onscreen partnership between the seasoned actor and Gautham Vasudev Menon, the filmmaker-actor, who has a significant role in it. It is worth noting that Mammootty and GVM are rumored to collaborate once more, this time for GVM’s highly anticipated directorial debut in Malayalam.
According to recent reports, it is believed that Gautham Vasudev Menon is preparing to make his first film as a director in Malayalam cinema. The highly acclaimed filmmaker, renowned for his captivating action movies and romantic tales, is now venturing into the Malayalam film industry after an impressive 23-year career. Speculations are rife that Mammootty has been chosen to portray the protagonist in Gautham Menon’s inaugural project in Malayalam cinema. Rumors have circulated that the megastar himself is funding the project through his production company, Mammootty Kampany. According to these reports, GVM has already presented a script to the megastar, who is highly impressed by it. If this collaboration is indeed taking place, the upcoming project of this actor-director duo is expected to be one of the most eagerly awaited films in Malayalam cinema in 2025. However, neither Mammootty nor Gautham Vasudev Menon have officially confirmed these reports as of yet.
According to rumors, Nayanthara, the renowned actress of South cinema, has been approached to portray the female lead in an untitled film by Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon. If she agrees to the project, it will be a long-awaited reunion between her and the megastar after a hiatus of more than 8 years. If the reports are accurate, Mammootty, Gautham Menon, and the rest of the team are planning to officially launch this highly anticipated project with a special announcement poster in the near future.
