The producers of the newest Malayalam movie, Turbo, have announced that the Arabic adaptation will be released in theaters across the GCC on August 2. The unveiling of the Arabic teaser has brought great joy to Mammootty fans in the Gulf region.
During the month of June, the actor made an appearance at the teaser launch event hosted in Dubai. Addressing the enthusiastic audience, Mammootty conveyed his interest in exploring more areas within the United Arab Emirates to promote his upcoming film in case it turns out to be another success at the box office. Turbo also produced similar collections in the Gulf States and India. He mentioned, “This could potentially be the first Malayalam movie to have an Arabic dubbing.” Furthermore, the Malayalam superstar recommended that fans watch the movie in cinemas rather than waiting for its digital release. He revealed that the main character in the Arabic version, Jasim Turbo, has replaced Turbo Jose as the new name. The additional modifications made to cater to the target audience’s preferences will only become apparent after the movie’s release. Ahmad Salah, a Kerala-based individual who has gained significant popularity online for his multilingual video content and diverse talents, provided the Arabic dubbing for Mammootty.
On August 9, the film will be available to stream in five different languages on Sony LIV. In addition to Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, the movie directed by Vysakh will also be available in these languages, similar to recent Malayalam films that have premiered on OTT platforms. This marks Mammootty’s second project acquired by the platform, with the first being the popular horror thriller Bramayugam, which premiered in February. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics and entertainment enthusiasts, the film directed by Vysakh had a successful opening weekend at the box office. It is worth noting that the creators of Turbo are already working on a sequel. Another South Indian or Malayalam superstar is expected to join the megastar in the franchise’s second installment.
