Vishwak Sen, a renowned Telugu actor, recently had his second film release of the year, following Gaami, with the action-packed drama Gangs of Godavari. The movie was released in theaters on May 31st and received mixed response. Exciting news came on Sunday when Netflix India South announced that the film will be available for streaming starting from June 14th in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. It is worth mentioning that the film is making its digital debut within a concise span of just two weeks after its theatrical release. Krishna Chaitanya, the writer and director of Gangs of Godavari, has previously worked on films such as Rowdy Fellow and Chal Mohan Ranga. Alongside Vishwak Sen, the movie also features talented actors like Anjali, Neha Shetty, Nassar, and P Sai Kumar, among others.
Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for Gangs of Godavari, while Anith Madadi has handled the cinematography. According to reliable sources, there are plans for a sequel to the film, and Krishna Chaitanya has already prepared the second installment. Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya have financed the project, with Venkat Upputuri and Gopichand Innamuri as co-producers under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The movie received a variety of reviews when it premiered. Gangs of Godavari is a rural action drama featuring solid performances. Vishwak Sen shines in the lead role. However, reviewers felt that the unimpressive second half and weak storyline caused the film to lose its momentum quickly, resulting in a subpar viewing experience.
