Did Amit Shah ask Naidu to merge TDP with BJP?

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah a week ago in Delhi and had one-hour talks. The two leaders have discussed the alliance proposal between the two parties.

It was said that the BJP had asked for 35 Assembly seats and 5 Parliament seats in alliance with the BJP. The TDP chief did not agree for the same and had reportedly told the Home Minister that he would get back a little later.

It is a fact that Chandrababu Naidu is desperately trying for alliance with the BJP. He had tied-up with the Jana Sena and is seriously working on having alliance with the BJP. He wants TDP, Jana Sena and the BJP to go together for the coming elections to defeat the ruling YSR Congress.

But the fact is that the talks held between Chandrababu Naidu and Amit Shah are different. According to the sources, Amit Shah had reportedly asked Chandrababu Naidu to merge his TDP with the BJP. They are also working for merger of the Jana Sena with the BJP before the 2024 general election are a little later.

Shah wanted the TDP chief to merge his TDP with the BJP and was offered the national vice-president post for the BJP to Chandrababu Naidu and a minister of state post in the Central cabinet to his son Nara Lokesh.

It is said that Chandrababu Naidu was shocked at this offer. He is worried about his party leaders reaction to the proposal. They are not happy with the alliance as that would deprive the party of some seats. If the party has to be merged with the BJP, then the TDP leaders would make hue and cry.

Chandrababu Naidu and the yellow media are absolutely silent on the issue. They did not report much about Chandrababu Naidu’s meeting with Amit Shah. There are a number of stories in the yellow media when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a brief talk with Chandrababu Naidu on the sidelines of a meeting in Delhi some months ago. But they did not write anything about Naidu’s meeting with Shah.

The reason behind Chandrababu Naidu and the yellow media’s silence is the proposal from Shah to merge the TDP with the BJP. It is to be seen what decision that Chandrababu Naidu would take in the days to come.
