Christian representatives called on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Camp Office here on Friday.
They told the Chief Minister that all eligible persons are receiving the benefits of welfare schemes without any bias and the honorarium given to pastors is very helpful.
They urged him to take steps to protect the church properties and solve the burial grounds issue besides giving exemption from payment of municipal tax on schools and other service-oriented properties run by the Churches.
They also appealed to construct community halls in district headquarters and support the legal battle for getting reservations for Dalit Christians.
The Chief Minister told them that the issue of granting SC status to Dalit Christians is sub judice and the Assembly has already passed a resolution seeking SC status for them and sent it to the Centre.
Government has received reports on Christian burial grounds and issued orders to establish them wherever necessary. It is also taking steps to establish SC burial grounds based on reports from village secretariats, he told them.
