Big News: Brolin Hints a Possible Thanos Comeback to MCU

Thanos may conquer the Marvel Cinematic Universe once again if comments from actor Josh Brolin prove true. When asked about reprising the iconic villain role in future MCU projects, Brolin cryptically suggested Marvel has been discussing bringing his Thanos back into live-action.

“I hear kind of like through the grapevine, that they’re gonna bring him back,” he revealed. “I don’t know in the Marvel world whether they’re going to bring him back, but I didn’t know that he was the most killed-off Marvel villain.”

With Thanos having died across numerous MCU entries, from his dual Endgame deaths to Multiverse of Madness and What If? variants, the multiverse could pave an easy narrative path for his return. And Marvel likely isn’t finished mining perhaps their greatest cinematic antagonist.

Brolin sounded unsure but intrigued by the chatter of Thanos getting resurrected down the line. He’s voiced animated variants since his apparent big-screen demise in Avengers: Endgame. But returning in person would mark quite the major comeback.

The actor defined the MCU’s villain problem for years as their most developed antagonist yet. So should discussions progress into firm plans, expect Marvel’s post-Endgame, multiverse-hopping saga to fling open the door for Thanos once more. Josh Brolin crushing Avengers’ hopes anew would truly drive home the infinite nature of the multiverse.
