For me, it wasn’t a matter of circumstance but rather an attempt to find another method of performing and obtaining material. In this ‘new environment,’ there is no domestic distribution. That’s part of what it means to be an independent film. Sometimes you can be picked up by Sony or Fox Searchlight. Other times, they make films, but not always. I don’t know, to me, it’s just another way of making a movie.”
