Apple’s much-anticipated next-generation iPad Pro and iPad Air models are reportedly set to be unveiled in early May. The new iPad Pro tablets are expected to feature OLED screens, which have been a frequent topic of speculation. In a first for the iPad Air line, the iPad Air will be offered in two sizes, expanding the series to cater to a wider range of users.
The launch of these new iPad models comes after a significant gap of about a year and a half since the introduction of the previous iPad Pros. This prolonged wait, however, is expected to be justified by the introduction of OLED screens, which will not only offer stunning visuals but also contribute to making the tablets incredibly thin.
Apple has reportedly increased production in anticipation of the launch, indicating its hopes for the new models to boost its tablet sales. With a declining trend in iPad sales over the past two fiscal years, these new releases are crucial for Apple’s tablet lineup. The iPad Pros are expected to feature the M3 chip, along with redesigned versions of the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. Additionally, rumors suggest that the Apple Pencil may gain support for the Vision Pro headset. The iPad Air will also receive a new processor and an additional 12.9-inch size option, providing consumers with more choices in selecting a larger iPad without the need to opt for the Pro models.
Originally planned for a late March release, the launch was delayed reportedly due to Apple working on finishing software for the new tablets and the complexities involved in manufacturing OLED screens. Despite the delay, the upcoming iPad Pro and iPad Air models are highly anticipated and are expected to be well-received by Apple enthusiasts and consumers alike.
