Ajay Devgn-R. Madhavan’s Shaitaan has been released on OTT, guaranteeing it will become the most-watched film online. The latest ranking released by Ormax Media for the week of May 3-9 confirms this prediction. Shaitaan has successfully surpassed Yami Gautam’s Article 370 to claim the top spot as the most-viewed film on OTT this week.
Shaitaan, starring R. Madhavan, Ajay Devgn, Jyothika, and Janki Bodiwala in the leading roles, has become the top theatrical release on OTT platforms this week. This achievement is expected, considering Shaitaan has been the most successful film of the year thus far. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the movie is a Hindi remake of the Gujarati film Vash, in which Janki also played the lead role. Yami Gautam’s Article 370, which discusses the deviation of the same from the Indian Constitution, previously held the top position on the list. However, it has now been displaced to the second spot due to the emergence of Shaitaan on OTT platforms. It is worth mentioning that Shaitaan is still being screened in a limited number of theaters despite its online release. On the other hand, Vidyut Jammwal-Arjun Rampal’s Crakk remains one of the most-watched theatrical releases on OTT. Although the film did not perform well in theaters, it has consistently remained on the list since its release on Disney+Hotstar.
The most recent release, 8 A.M. Metro, stars Gulshan Devaiah and Saiyami Kher in the main roles. Directed by Raj Rachakonda, this film is now accessible on Zee5 and OTTplay Premium. It premiered on OTT on Friday, May 10. The film’s fate in terms of making it to the list next week is still uncertain.
