In addition to the birthday celebrations, fans of Ajay might have something more to look forward to, as a new report reveals that Punjabi filmmaker Vijay Kumar Arora will direct the sequel to Son of Sardar.
According to the inside reports, Ajay Devgn has chosen Vijay Kumar Arora to direct Son of Sardar 2. The film is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to begin filming later this year, aiming for a mid-2025 release. Vijay Kumar Arora, recognized for his successful transition from cinematographer to director in Punjabi cinema, has helmed popular movies such as Harjeeta (2018), Baby Dolls (2019), Kali Jotta (2023), and Godday Godday Chaa (2023). Son of Sardar 2 will mark his debut as a Bollywood director, highlighting his skills honed over years of experience in cinematography.
For the unknown, it should be noted that Son of Sardaar, a comedic and action-packed film that was released in 2012, was directed by Ashwni Dhir. This movie is a remake of the 2010 Telugu film Maryada Ramanna by SS Rajamouli and stars renowned actors such as Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Juhi Chawla. The film made its debut on November 13, 2012, and even featured a special appearance by Salman Khan. Currently, the movie is available to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar. There are plans in motion for a sequel to further the storyline. Coming to the professional front, Ajay Devgn is eagerly anticipating the release of Maidaan, a sports drama directed by Amit Sharma. The release will hit the screens on April 10, which coincides with Eid celebrations. Additionally, the film is set to clash with Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
