Adhurs is an action comedy film directed by VV Vinayak. It features Jr NTR in the lead role alongside Lady Superstar Nayanthara and Sheela. Devi Sri Prasad was the music composer. Music Album went on to become a huge hit. Jr NTR was seen in a dual role and was well appreciated by the netizens for the role Narasimha Chari “Chari”. While JR NTR’s performance was received well, Another major attraction for the film was Brahmanandam and his hilarious love story with Nayanthara. Brahmanandam comedy timing and his expressions from the film is trending even now on Social Media Platforms, They are being used in the form of stickers, gifs by the public. His comedy scenes were also well utilized by the memers by relating it with current events.
Back in 2010, Adhurs didn’t have a smooth theatrical release. The film got postponed multiple times for various reasons and it finally got released for Sankranti 2010. Even then it didn’t get a smooth release because of some disturbing political situation during the time of release. Adhurs was not even screened in some areas and the posters from outside the theaters were torn. However in some areas though it got released, it was screened under police protection. With these troubles, The public didn’t show up to the theaters during the initial days of the film despite good talk. After multiple delays with the pressure that’s been building from the distributor’s end, The makers had to go for the release. At the other end though, Venkatesh Namo Venkatesa and Ravi Teja Shambo Shiva Shambo had a smooth release. Because of its talk, Adhurs did well later by posting good numbers at the Box Office and turned out to be a decent hit.
With the current trend of re-releases happening in Tollywood, Adhurs is getting back on big screens this Nov 18th 2023. Coincidentally it happens to be Nayanthara’s birthday. Jr NTR and Nayanthara fans are excited for its release and ready to witness its magic once again on big screens but this time with a smooth release.
