Adah Sharma, who gained recognition from The Kerala Story, is now featured in Bastar. Both movies draw inspiration from real-life incidents. The Kerala Story explores the narrative of conversion to Islam and the forced recruitment as suicide bombers. In contrast, Bastar In an interview with Global Movie magazine, Adah sheds light on the Naxalites inflicting significant casualties and causing harm to national resources in 1910. There have been accusations that she chooses roles that promote a specific agenda. Adah has finally decided to confront this issue. This development coincides with the upcoming OTT release of Bastar on Zee5 and OTTplay Premium on May 17.
Adah, in an interview with Global Movie magazine, addressed the assumption that she works in propaganda films. She stated that she chooses not to respond to such assumptions because acknowledging them would mean engaging in a debate. Adah emphasized that it is not a form of propaganda for her when she takes on a film. Reflecting on her role in The Kerala Story, Adah expressed her strong belief that girls are being converted and becoming suicide bombers. This conviction led her to wholeheartedly commit to the movie, pouring her heart and soul into it. She acknowledged that audiences are free to dislike her films and is okay with that. Adah further elaborated that if she were to constantly worry about whether viewers would appreciate her role or not, it would be unfair to the character she is portraying.
Adah expresses that she has received more compliments for her character in Bastar than in any other role. She points to examples from Zee5’s original Sunflower 2 and the re-release of The Kerala Story on OTT platforms, hoping that Bastar will also be released uncensored. Adah believes that her life took a turn after The Kerala Story’s release, as she has received numerous script offers since then. She emphasizes that she focuses on delivering a good performance rather than the movie’s Box Office success. Adah mentions that her standards have been raised after working on The Kerala Story, making her fans aware that she is not interested in mediocre projects. She also expresses gratitude for the impact playing the characters in The Kerala Story and Bastar has had on her life.
