Aadudam Andhra – AP Govt Launches First-Ever Sports Extravaganza For Youth

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the state-wide sporting event ‘Aadudam Andhra.’ This first-of-its-kind sporting event aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among the youth, starting from the village level. The event also serves as a platform to identify and nurture talent, showcasing it at both the national and international levels. Additionally, the program seeks to foster sportsmanship and a spirit of healthy competition.

Featuring competitive events in five sports—Cricket, Badminton, Kho-kho, Kabaddi, and Volleyball—this pioneering sporting initiative by the Government offers an unprecedented opportunity for residents of the state. From the village level to the state level, individuals can actively participate, expressing their passion for sports and simultaneously imbibing the significance of a healthy lifestyle. The initiative includes separate tournaments for both men and women, ensuring inclusivity across genders.

The Government has initiated the registration process for all sports, with the tournament scheduled to commence on December 15 and conclude on February 3. Online registration is open to all residents of the state who are 15 years of age or older. Participants can register for sporting events spanning from the GSWS level to the state level.

To enhance participation across the community, Aadudam Andhra will feature non-competitive events such as yoga, marathons, tennikoit, and other local sports. The Andhra Pradesh Government aims to foster healthier lifestyles throughout the 38-day event, illustrating that an active way of life can be both enjoyable and filled with excitement. The government envisions this initiative as a platform for the sporting aspirations of the state, providing an opportunity for them to shine on the national and international stage.

The Government will be sponsoring free sports kits for every player in preparation for their matches. This initiative aims to ensure that each participant has an equitable and competitive opportunity to showcase their skills in the field. Additionally, all venues will be equipped with appropriate medical facilities.

Commencing on December 15, the event will take place in every village or Ward Secretariat, utilizing the best available sporting facilities. Winners from the knock-out rounds will advance to the final event scheduled for February 3 at the Dr YS Rajashekar Reddy Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Notably, victorious participants will have the chance to claim cash prizes from a substantial prize pool amounting to Rs 12 crore. While this edition marks the inception of Aadudam Andhra, the Andhra Pradesh Government is committed to hosting subsequent editions annually. This recurring event will continue to serve as a unique platform for local sporting talent to exhibit their abilities.
