Story:
Arun Katyal is a task force soldier who gets dismissed from his force because of a failed mission. After a few years, he is boarded a commercial airplane and gets into an uncertain situation as he is blamed for a hijack plan. The rest of the story is how Arun gets successful in his mission, which is to save the flight and seek redemption as well.
Performances:
Sidharth Malhotra was good in the titular role. He did well in action sequences and tried to carry the film on his shoulders, while Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani were fine and the latter’s act will surprise the audiences. Ronit Roy, Tanuj Virwani, and Sunny Hinduja were appropriate.
Analysis:
Director Duo Sagar Ambre, and Pushkar Ojha came up with an. action drama with the backdrop of Indian Army Vs Terrorist backdrop. The film does not offer anything new, be it the story or the characterization of the lead role and the problems he faces everything gives a Deja Vu feel. Though the film is an action-based one, the film also focuses on emotional drama equally. However, if only the characters/writing had been more enhanced and stronger, the effect could have been effective.
Positives:
Sidharth Malhotra ‘s performance as Yodha was convincing. His good dialogue delivery and swift body language in action sequences work well for the film. A few patriotic dialogues and the final half an hour of the film came good for it.
Negatives:
As said above, the film’s storyline and main incidents do not have any substantial amount of impact on the audiences. One can easily guess the proceedings throughout the movie. Moreover, the romance track between Sidharth and Raashii was predictable.
Review: (2.5/5)
Last Line: Yodha: A subdued mission
