Will Operation Valentine face the same fate as Fighter and Article 370?

Varun Tej is also set to enthrall the audiences with his latest film, Operation Valentine. The star has taken part in aggressive promotions for the film and has been able to create some buzz around the film. However, a small problem is upcoming for the film. When portraying actual events, especially those involving the Indian Defense system, the filmmakers must obtain the necessary permissions. It is of utmost importance to comply with the regulations set by the Ministry of Defence, considering the sensitivity of such matters. “Operation Valentine,” featuring Varun Tej and Manushi Chhillar, explores the role of the Indian Air Force in the Balakot airstrike, which was a response to the 2019 Pulwama attack. The Ministry of Defence has approved the film’s script and realistic depiction. Nevertheless, there are concerns regarding the potential ban of the movie in Gulf Countries.

This matter would not be brought up if it were a typical Varun Tej film. However, ‘Operation Valentine’ is a bilingual film produced by Sony Pictures in both Hindi and Telugu, allowing it to have a wider release similar to a Hindi film. In countries like the Gulf, where regular Telugu movies are not even considered for discussion, this film becomes a subject of interest. Recently, films like Hrithik Roshan’s “Fighter” and Yami Gautam’s “Article 370” were banned in Gulf countries for portraying the Balakot Strikes as a response to the Pulwama Attack by Pakistan. Gulf countries generally do not promote or support films that engage in Pakistan bashing.

Operation Valentine, directed by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, delves into a similar subject matter with a greater level of intricacy and authenticity. By portraying Pakistan in a negative manner, the film aims to evoke strong emotions among Indian viewers. Consequently, there is a significant possibility that Operation Valentine, slated for release this Friday, may face a ban in Gulf Countries.
