The drug container caught by the CBI officials in Visakhapatnam is creating ripples in the political circles. The moment when the CBI laid its hands on the container, the political parties started coming up with statements and social media posts blaming the rival party.
It was the TDP that came up with a social media post immediately after the CBI caught the container. TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh tweeted saying that the container belonged to the ruling YSR Congress leaders. He said that the YSR Congress had made Andhra Pradesh as the hub of drugs and ganja.
This social media post was followed by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu who also said that the container belonged to the YSR Congress leaders. He alleged that the ruling party leaders have made Visakhapatnam the capital of crime.
However, further investigations show that the container was imported by a company called, Sandhya Aqua Exports. The company is owned jointly by Kunam Kotaiah Chowdary and Kunam Veerabhadra Rao.
Interestingly, the two persons are closely connected with the family of AP BJP president Daggubati Purandhewswari. They are also active leaders of the TDP. The YSR Congress exposed this relationship between Purandheswari and the TDP.
However, the yellow media had been trying to establish that the container had no connection with the TDP or Daggubati family. The yellow media had been cooking up stories to point an accusing finger at the ruling party.
The yellow media says that the Visakhapatnam police did not cooperate with the CBI officials in raiding the container. Keeping the ownership of the container aside, the yellow media and the TDP are now focusing on the police involvement in the issue.
The Visakhapatnam police commissioner had said that the CBI had asked them for a dog squad and that they have been sent. The process took some time, and the Dogs reached the spot a little late. But that did not mean that the Visakhapatnam police did not cooperate with the CBI.
The TDP and the yellow media have been trying to mislead the people on the issue knowing fully well that the container is linked to the TDP and Daggubati family. Who are they trying to fool is the big question now!
