Gopichand and Srinu Vaitla’s latest action entertainer, Viswam, is on the verge of becoming a big disaster at the box office. The film had a good set of expectations among audiences, and everyone thought this would be the comeback hit of Srinu Vaitla. However, the film failed to receive positive responses from audiences and critics as everyone felt it was an outdated outing.
On its first day, Viswam was able to mint a mere 2 crore gross at the worldwide box office. The ticket sales are also not that encouraging, as it had sold only 30k tickets in the last 24 hours, according to the ticket booking app, Bookmyshow. However, today being a festival day (Dasara), the film could get some respectable numbers in Telugu states. If not for a tremendous jump on today or tomorrow, the box office journey of Viswam can be considered closed. Though a section of reviewers and audiences felt that the comedy portions of the film were good, the other parts, especially the flashback of the hero and the terrorism thread in the film, failed to impress everyone.
Viswam also stars Kavya Thapar as the female lead, along with Jisshu Sen Gupta, Sunil, Bharath, Pruthvi, Naresh, Vennela Kishore, and VTV Ganesh, who appeared in the other crucial roles. TG Vishwa Prasad produced the film under the People Media Factory banner.
