Vinnod Prabhakar’s Fighter is now out on OTT

Director Nuthan Umesh’s Fighter is a thrilling commercial film that also delivers a strong social message. Starring Vinnod Prabhakar, the movie was released in theaters in October 2023 and received various reviews. While some praised the impactful message, others noted that Fighter follows a familiar path without introducing anything groundbreaking. After some time, the team finally secured a digital streaming partner, and as of June 7, Fighter can be streamed on SunNXT.

Fighter revolves around two primary concerns: the exploitation of farmers and the destruction of agricultural land by the real-estate mafia. Additionally, it sheds light on the illicit trade of blood by the medical mafia. This film marks the return of yesteryear heroine Nirosha to Kannada cinema. She portrays a senior law enforcement official and the mother of Mohak, played by Vinnod. The main character engages in at least six action sequences throughout the movie, battling against societal corruption and protecting his family from harm. Additionally, the film features actors such as Lekha Chandra, Raj Deepak Shetty, Sharath Lohithashwa, Rajesh Nataranga, Pavana Gowda, Kuri Pratap, Jahangir, Cheluvaraj, and others.

Vinnod has two intriguing films scheduled for release. One of them is Nelson, which is the directorial debut of actor Arun from Gombegala Love fame. In this film, Vinnod portrays a tribal character. The storyline is inspired by a true story about a gangster community from Chamarajnagar, spanning the years between 1960 and 1990. Vinnod’s upcoming project, Maadeva, is also set in a similar time period. Vinnod is currently working on his 25th film, which is titled Balaramana Dinagalu and falls under the genre of gangster flicks. The renowned director, KM Chaitanya, who is known for his work in Aa Dinagalu, will be directing this project. Similar time frame, with him portraying a hangman described as emotionless by the filmmakers. Maadeva reunites Vinod with his Roberrt co-star, Sonal Monteiro, once again.
