Vijay, a renowned actor and superstar in the Tamil film industry, is currently working on his latest project, The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT), under the direction of Venkat Prabhu. The filming process is progressing rapidly, with the scheduled release date set for the 5th of September this year. With just one month remaining until the completion of the shoot, it is common for film teams to start promotional activities. However, considering the current situation with the GOAT team, it appears that a postponement is likely on the horizon.
Up to this point, Yuvan Shankar Raja has released two songs. The latest one, Chinna Chinna Kangal, was launched to coincide with Vijay’s Birthday. However, there have been no further updates regarding the movie. The film includes extensive VFX work for Vijay’s second character appearance, which may be causing delays in the production process. As a result, there is a significant amount of uncertainty surrounding the scheduled release date of GOAT. Meanwhile, some unconfirmed rumors about the film’s postponement are doing rounds in the industry circles, much to the disappointment of the fans. However, everyone is expecting a major promotional update from the GOAT’s unit during Independence Weekend, which will hopefully dispel the rumors of postponement and bring some clarity to the situation.
Vijay is highly dedicated to completing the shooting of THE GOAT and transitioning to his final film before shifting his focus entirely to politics. The upcoming movie will be helmed by H. Vinoth, known for directing Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. Once Vijay wraps up this project, he will participate in political engagements and vie for a seat in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections in 2026.
