Vijay’s G.O.A.T: Is Overconfidence Restricting Crucial Promotions?

Promotional campaigns play a crucial role in generating a film’s buzz, especially as the release date approaches. Even for star-studded projects, the effectiveness of these campaigns can significantly impact the anticipation surrounding a film. Without active and consistent promotion, it can be challenging to build the necessary excitement for a successful release.

In the case of dubbed films, promotional efforts become even more critical. Even if the actor is a star in his home territory, it’s essential for him to actively engage with new audiences, especially when his films are gaining traction in other regions.

Turning to Vijay’s upcoming film titled G.O.A.T., directed by Venkat Prabhu, which is slated for release on September 5th, the situation raises questions. The film is also being dubbed in Telugu and will have a simultaneous release. However, with just four days left until its release, the promotional efforts seem to be lacking. Is this due to overconfidence in Vijay’s stardom, or are the makers hesitant to push further after the lukewarm response to the film’s audio?

Recently, Chiyaan Vikram took a different approach with his film Thangalaan. Despite being a Tamil star, he actively promoted the Telugu version by participating in interviews and interacting with fans in Telugu-speaking regions. However, in Vijay’s case, not only are the Telugu promotions minimal, but even the original Tamil version’s promotional activities seem subdued.
