The comedy drama was released in theaters on October 11, 2024, and though the film’s trailer was well received, it did not carry any huge expectations because all the eyes were on its competitor at the box office, Jigra, which starred Alia Bhatt in the lead role. However, VVKWWV outperformed Jigra at the box office.
Bot JIgra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video did not collect big numbers at the box office, but the former was able to maintain the decent flow from the first day. VVKWWV collected 6.5 crore net in India on its second weekend. On Friday, its eighth day, the film collected nearly 1.5 crore net, followed by 2.25 and 2.75 on the ninth and tenth days. Overall, the film collected 33. 5 crore net and 40 crore gross at the domestic box office. Now, if the film somehow manages to collect another 7-10 crore before its closing, it can be termed an average fare at the box office.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video caught everyone’s attention with its hilarious trailre. The pair of Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, a couple of blockbuster songs, hinted at the film having the potential to become a proper blockbuster at the box office. However, the film received just okay range reviews, and many felt that the film could have been much better if the director had taken care of the boring scenes in the second half.
