Vettaiyan saw a huge crash in its box office collections on its fifth day. The latest cop drama starring Rajinikanth was released in theaters worldwide on October 10, 2024. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film received a decent response from audiences and critics, and it performed well at the box office over the first weekend.
However, the film failed to pass the crucial Monday test and gathered only 6 crore gross from the worldwide box office, taking the total to 196 crore for four days. Till the Diwali festival releases, there is no big Tamil movie getting released, and Vettaiyan can use it if it stays consistent even at the lower levels on weekdays from now on. The film’s collections also got affected by the ongoing massive rains in Chennai. So, we should wait and watch how the theatrical run of Vettaiayan will proceed from now on.
Vettaiyan talks about fake encounters and their effects. Also, the film has a social message regarding an ongoing problem in society. Besides Rajinikanth, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrior, Abhirami, and others in crucial roles. Anirdh Ravichander has composed the film’s music, and Lyca Productions backed it.
