Venkat Prabhu is currently engaged in the post-production phase of his upcoming movie The GOAT—Greatest of All Time, which features Vijay. In the most recent development regarding the film, Venkat Prabhu announced that the VFX tasks involving Vijay have been finalized. The movie is scheduled to premiere on September 5.
This morning, the director shared an image of Vijay on X (formerly Twitter) at the Lola Visual Effects lab, renowned for its de-aging techniques. The film, described as a sci-fi action drama, will feature Vijay in two roles – young and old. The most recent update confirms that the production team is focusing on de-aging the VFX process. With post-production progressing rapidly, the movie is set to release in theaters on September 5th this year. Titled “The Goat,” this marks Vijay’s 68th film as a lead actor and is being produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh under the AGS Entertainment banner.
Alongside Vijay, the movie boasts a stellar cast including Prashanth, Prabhudeva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, and Yugendran Vasudevan. There are whispers of Trisha and Sivakarthikeyan making cameo appearances, adding to the film’s star power. The music for The GOAT is composed by the talented Yuvan Shankar Raja. The first single from the movie Whistle Podhu, sung by Vijay himself, was recently released, further building anticipation among the fans. With Vijay’s potential political career in the air, The GOAT is expected to draw a massive crowd to theaters. This movie also marks Vijay’s first collaboration with director Venkat Prabhu. Cinematographer Siddhartha Nuni is behind the camera work, while Venkat Raajen serves as the editor. Dilip Subbarayan handles stunt coordination, and Rajeevan is the production designer, who is adding their expertise to the project.
