Throughout a 6-week program, Sheriff Eric Higgins of Pulaski County is eager to observe how the inmates respond to this new initiative. Sheriff Higgins is determined to improve the detention facility’s conditions and the jail’s substandard living conditions. Throughout the program, the inmates will be held accountable for their actions not only towards each other but also towards others. Sheriff Higgins’ ultimate goal is to foster greater cooperation and involvement within the prison community.
The entire six-week program will be presented in great detail in this new docu-series on Netflix. The trailer features some inmates discussing how one particular prisoner’s actions have negatively impacted the program. Others are shown discussing the significant opportunity to reconnect with their families and experience the freedom of meeting them. The one-minute and forty-six-second video also mentions that inmates will be rewarded with increased freedom and opportunities for exhibiting good behavior. In a recent interview with People magazine, Eric Higgins stated that despite numerous challenges, his entire team is committed to implementing this program to create a safe environment within the prison. He believes that this journey will not only transform the lives of individuals but also challenge society’s perception of rehabilitation. Higgins also disclosed that Lucky 8 TV Inc. has agreed to pay their office $1000 daily for the filming process.
