Ulajh, a thriller featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Gulshan Devaiah, garnered an estimated net revenue of Rs 2.05 crore in India on Sunday. This marks a significant increase from its opening-day earnings. Directed by Sudhanshu Saria, the film initially collected Rs 1.15 crore net on its first day, followed by a slight rise to Rs 1.70 crore on the second day. According to a recent report from industry analysts, Ulajh has accumulated a total of Rs 4.90 crore in India.
Janhvi portrays the character of Suhana, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) official who climbs the ranks to become the youngest Deputy High Commissioner in Ulajh. She is labeled as a product of nepotism by her colleagues. Throughout her journey in the London embassy, she encounters rigorous examination and doubts regarding her allegiance while carrying out a challenging mission. Adil Hussain, Roshan Mathew, and Meiyang Chang are also featured in Ulajh. Co-produced by Amrita Pandey and Vineet Jain, the film falls under the Junglee Pictures banner. Ulajh and Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha went head-to-head at the Box Office. As per the report, both movies experienced a significant drop in audience turnout and disappointing box office numbers, surprising many.
Despite Ulajh’s ongoing struggles at the box office, Gulshan Devaiah is receiving praise for his performance in the film. The actor addressed the disappointing box office numbers for Janhvi Kapoor’s political thriller during its initial two days on his X (formerly Twitter) account. According to Gulshan, films are meant to be experienced on the big screen, and he also characterized the industry as a “tough business.”
