Theppa Samudram, a low-cost movie, hit theaters on April 19, 2024, but unfortunately, it did not perform well financially despite its compelling storyline and strong acting. The action drama struggled to secure an OTT release for quite some time, but it has recently been announced that Aha has acquired the digital rights to the film at a very affordable price.
It has been announced that Aha will release this film for streaming on August 3, 2024. Titled Theppa Samudram, this social drama features prominent performances by Ambati Arjun, Ravi Shankar, Kishori Dhatrak, and Chaitanya Rao. The narrative unfolds in the small town of Theppa Samudram, focusing on the troubling issue of school girls who go missing and the subsequent efforts to rescue them. This encapsulates the core storyline of the film. The second half of the film impressively incorporates a few unexpected twists. The execution of these twists is undoubtedly the highlight of the movie. However, the overall presentation falls short, lacking freshness and ultimately dragging down the film. Sateesh Rapolu directed the film, but his work left much to be desired. Aha has acquired the rights to the film at a nominal price and intends to include it in its collection. Peddapalli Rohit, the music director, received high praise for his work in the movie. Ravi Shankar, a key actor portraying a negative role, delivered the most outstanding performance in the film.
Aha has secured partnerships with several other films besides this one. Theppa Samudram is the upcoming film to keep an eye on, scheduled for release on August 3, 2024, exclusively on Aha. It will be interesting to see how the viewers would respond to Theppa Samudram once it is made available on Aha Video.
