The OTT Domination over theaters this weekend

This week, the OTT platforms offer more exciting content than what’s playing in theaters. Generally, the Summer period will see many big movies in the Telugu Film Industry. However, 2024 Summer will not even have a single release from Star Heroes. NTR’s much-awaited Pan-Indian film Devara was supposed to be released on April 5th, but the film got postponed because of the delay in the shoot and the unit’s quest to achieve perfection in the VFX.

Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi, the sole new Eid release, failed to make a significant impact. Though it was a sequel, the audiences rejected it as the film did not provide the required entertainment and was made with a flimsy storyline. Similarly, movies such as Sri Ranga Neethulu, Love Guru (a remake of a Tamil film), and Dear (a Telugu dubbed version) didn’t generate much excitement. So, movie lovers were very disappointed because of such dull content in theatrical releases.

Rest assured! Streaming services offer a variety of blockbuster films, such as Om Bheem Bush (Amazon Prime Video), Gaami (ZEE 5), and Premalu (Telugu-Aha, Malayalam-Disney Plus Hotstar). Also, Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila, released on Netflix on April 12th, is getting rave reviews. It is worth noting that all of these movies are suitable for families and are highly recommended for weekend viewing.
