Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT had a superb second weekend at the box office. Since its first day, the film had a superb run in Tamil Nadu and overseas, and the same continued this weekend as well. Interesting thing is, the film has collected 40 crore gross in its second weekend in Tamil Nadu. This proves what kind of sensational run the film is having at the theaters of Tamil Nadu.
The Greatest of All-Time’s 11-day gross in Tamil Nadu is 180 crore, and it is well on course to cross the 200 crore mark. Currently, Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan-I stands as the all-time highest grosser of Kollywood with over 225 crore gross. Vijay and Venkat Prabhu’s The GOAT is expected to cross the figure in its full run and become the all-time highest grosser of Tamil cinema. Coming to the overall collections, the film has collected 400 crore gross in its eleven days of theatrical run.
Kamal Haasan and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram has gathered 425 crore gross in its full run, and The GOAT will comfortably cross this number this week. After that, THE GOAT will join the all-time highest top five grossers of Tamil cinema. 2 Point 0, Jailer, Leo, and Ponniyin Selvan-I stand as the top four films at the Tamil Box Office. Trade experts felt that Vijay’s film would have entered the WW 500 Cr club if it had performed well in the Tellugu States and Kerala.
