The GOAT, the penultimate movie of Thalapathy Vijay, is still minting considerable numbers at the box office, and the film had a good Saturday as it scored a double digit in Tamil Nadu. Released on September 5, 2024, amidst huge expectations, The Greatest of All-Time is the first ever film in the combination of Thalapathy Vijay and Director Venkat Prabhu. The fans are loving Vijay’s performance in a double role.
Though the film did not receive positive responses on its first day, The Goat has collected good numbers at the box office. For 10 days, the film has collected around 175 crore gross in Tamil Nadu, which is a massive number. If the film manages to collect another 50 crores from now on, it will beat Ponniyan Selvan-1 (2022) and become the highest grosser in Tamil Nadu. The worldwide gross of The Greatest of All-Time will be over 365 crores.
Even if it fails to pass Ponniyan Selvan’s first part, The GOAT will for sure enter the 200 crore mark at the Tamil Nadu market, and it will be the second consecutive film to do so after Leo (2023), directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Vijay. Thalapathy Vijay will be the first actor from Tamil Cinema to have two films crossing 200 crore.
