The Garfield is now available on OTT on Rental Mode

OTT platforms in India are now offering The Garfield Movie, which was released earlier this year. This animated adventure comedy feature can be rented on Prime Video, ZEE5, and BookMyShow Stream for Rs. 249. Based on Jim Davis’ comic strip Garfield, the film includes a voice cast that features Chris Pratt, Samuel L. Jackson, Ving Rhames, Hannah Waddingham, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, Bowen Yang, and Snoop Dogg, among others. Directed by Mark Dindal, the script was written by Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgove, and David Reynolds.

In the movie, Vic, the father Garfield never knew he had, manipulates a stray cat named Vic into accompanying him on a dangerous journey. Chris Pratt’s famous feline, Garfield, is gearing up for an adventurous escapade outdoors! The sudden arrival of their estranged father, the scruffy street cat Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson), pulls Garfield and his canine companion Odie out of their pampered lifestyle and into a comical, risky caper. Jim Davis, the creator of Garfield, expressed his satisfaction with Pratt’s selection for the role due to the fact that, in Davis’s opinion, Pratt was able to bring out more than just deadpan humor in his portrayal of Garfield. Additionally, director Mark Dindal had initially chosen Pratt to voice Garfield because he had envisioned Pratt’s voice fitting the character for quite some time. The animators combined Dindal’s voice with snippets of Garfield’s lines to assess whether it captured Garfield’s sarcasm and laziness, which Dindal believed it did.

Despite not introducing any new plot points, The Garfield Movie’s post-credit scene strongly hints at a sequel. Following the credits, a comic strip featuring Garfield teasingly inquired about the possibility of a follow-up film. Colombia Pictures may already have plans in place, with the success of the initial movie being the deciding factor. If all goes well, the second installment of the Garfield franchise is sure to become a reality.
