The film’s lackluster performance wasn’t necessarily due to its quality but perhaps due to timing issues. Following Nagarjuna’s acclaimed role in the devotional film ‘Sri Ramadasu,’ expectations soared, but Boss failed to soar as high as anticipated. Many compared it unfavorably to Nagarjuna’s previous hits like Nenunannu and Manmadhudu, as it shares somewhat a similar plot setting a high bar for the film to reach.
As a fan, however, I found much to enjoy in Boss: I Love You. Nagarjuna and Nayanthara’s presence was crucial to the film’s narrative, which revolved around a poignant love story from start to finish.
