Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ektaa R Kapoor’s third collaboration, The Buckingham Murders, will mark the actor’s first project with Hansal Mehta. The duo, known for their comedic dramas in Crew and Veere Di Wedding, is now venturing into the murder mystery genre, promising an intriguing film. Kareena Kapoor Khan will also debut as a co-producer for this project. The highly anticipated film is set to premiere in theatres on September 13, 2024.

Even before its official release, the film created a buzz at festivals like Jio MAMI and the BFI London Film Festival in 2023. The filmmakers opted to use social media to unveil the movie’s release date by posting an intriguing poster. They joyfully announced that The Buckingham Murders will premiere in cinemas on September 13, 2024. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker penned the movie, featuring a diverse cast that includes Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. Producers Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ektaa R. Kapoor, and Shobha Kapoor, with the backing of Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films. Kareena has openly acknowledged in several recent interviews that she accepted the role in this film despite facing unfavorable casting calls. She also revealed that she had admired Kate Winslet’s performance in Mare of Easttown on six different occasions before agreeing to star in Hansal’s The Buckingham Murders, which had a similar theme involving a mother and a no-nonsense detective. Not only did she join the project, but she also decided to co-produce it. Moreover, she believes The Buckingham Murders marks a turning point in her acting career.
