In the film, Maciek’s world is turned upside down when he receives the devastating news of his wife Janina’s fatal car accident. The police reveal that Janina’s accident was a solo accident, with no other vehicles involved, and that she mysteriously disappeared into thin air. Despite the police labeling it as a suicide due to skid marks and an empty road near Mragowo, Maciek is left puzzled as Janina was supposed to be in Krakow on a business trip, hundreds of miles away from the accident site. The unanswered questions surrounding Janina’s unexpected presence in Mragowo begin to torment Maciek.
