Tension around the release date of Shivarajkumar’s Bhairathi Ranagal

Century Star Shivarajkumar, a prominent Kannada actor known for consist 2-3 films annually, had initially planned to release his second home production, Bhairathi Ranagal, on Independence Day. The team confirmed the release date as August 15, despite the direct competition with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2. Nevertheless, recent speculations in Gandhinagar suggest that Narthan’s directorial may miss the theaters on the announced date.

According to an insider, the reason behind this delay is that Shivarajkumar, the lead actor, had to take a break from his shooting commitments to support his wife, Geetha Shivarajkumar, during her campaign for the Lok Sabha elections in Shivamogga. The source reveals that Director Nathan requires an additional month to complete the principal photography, followed by some patchwork. Consequently, the team is still determining whether to meet the initial release date of August 15 and is considering September 27 as the alternative date. However, with NTR’s Devara scheduled for September 27, a clash with Martin could occur on October 11. The team behind Bhairathi Ranagal has not officially announced a postponement and is trying to adhere to the original plan. This is especially important now that Pushpa 2 has also moved out of the August 15 slot. Shivarajkumar has recently joined the sets of Rohit Padaki’s Uttarakaanda, where he will be starring alongside Dhananjaya. Additionally, the actor must complete his work on composer Arjun Janya’s directorial debut of 45 songs before taking on a new project from his extensive list of commitments.

Bhairathi Ranagal serves as both a prequel and sequel to Mufti, delving into the origins of Shivarajkumar’s character as a feared gangster and the protector of his village. The acclaimed actor, known as the Hattrick Hero, expressed his eagerness to re-release Mufti in cinemas prior to the arrival of Bhairathi Ranagal.
