TDP offers 7 Lok Sabha, 15 Assembly seats to BJP

The opposition TDP is understood to have offered big number of seats to the BJP to join the alliance. The TDP wants the BJP to support the TDP-Jana Sena alliance in Andhra Pradesh to get best out of the elections.

The TDP is sure of not getting any advantage from the BJP in terms of voters if the BJP also joins the alliance. However, the TDP wants the advantage of distributing money to the voters during the elections.

The TDP believes that distribution of money to the voters at the time of elections would be possible or becomes easy for the TDP only if BJP is there in alliance. Otherwise, the party believes that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would not allow the TDP to distribute money in the elections.

The alliance between the TDP and the BJP is more for money rather than votes. This part is clear and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is very clear on this. He sees no political advantage from the BJP as the BJP votes would not get transferred to the TDP.

The BJP cadre is fuming at Chandrababu Naidu for his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the 2019 general election. The criticism of Chandrababu Naidu is afresh in their minds and none of them vote for the TDP even if there is alliance.

Chandrababu Naidu is also aware of this fact and is still going for alliance only to get the advantage of distributing money. He had offered about seven Parliament seats and 15 Assembly seats to the BJP in alliance. Though the number is too big, he is trying to lure the BJP with the numbers.

Chandrababu Naidu is likely to travel to Delhi on March 4 and will announce his joining the NDA on March 5. The alliance would be worked out on March 5 with the BJP leaders formally deciding to join the alliance. The BJP is said to have been attracted by the numbers that the TDP had offered to it. The BJP is confident that there would be at least two to three MPs from Andhra Pradesh, as the TDP votes would get transferred.
