It has been declared that actor Suriya and filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj will be teaming up for their next project, which is tentatively titled Suriya 44. This collaboration will be the first between Suriya and the director. Some details about the film, such as the potential music composer and the commencement of filming, have started to surface. According to the latest social media chatter, rumors are circulating that composer Santhosh Narayanan may be brought on board to compose the music for Suriya 44. Given his past collaborations with Karthik Subbaraj on various projects such as Jigarthanda DoubleX, Mahaan, and Jagame Thandhiram, it would not be a surprise if this turned out to be true. Nevertheless, an official confirmation from the team behind Suriya 44 is still pending.
Additionally, Gajaraj, an actor who frequently appears in his son Karthik’s movies, revealed in a recent interview that the team behind Suriya 44 is scheduled to commence filming in June. Suriya’s production company, 2D Entertainment, and Karthik’s Stone Bench Films will jointly produce this upcoming project. As Suriya is currently occupied with the post-production and dubbing of Kanguva, this will provide ample time for the Suriya 44 team to focus on pre-production tasks. In the meantime, Suriya is set to appear in Kanguva, helmed by filmmaker Siruthai Siva. The movie will also showcase notable Hindi actors Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in significant roles. This high-budget fantasy action film is expected to unfold over multiple years.
The film’s release date has yet to be revealed, but the production team is currently focused on post-production work. The movie will be dubbed into various national and international languages. Prime Video has acquired Kanguva’s post-theatrical streaming rights. Meanwhile, Suriya is collaborating with Sudha Kongara for Suriya 43, featuring Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Fahadh, and Vijay Varma.
