Tamil star actor Suriya recently finished shooting his 44th film, which was helmed by young director Kartik Subbaraj. Tentatively titled Suriya 44, the film has developed a good craze among Tamil and Telugu moviegoers because of the exciting combination of Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj. Recently, in an interview, filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj discussed the film’s storyline and release plans.
Karthik Subbaraj established himself as one of the most efficient directors of Tamil cinema with films like Jigarthanda, Petta, Mahaan, Jigarthanda Double X, and Jagame Thandhiram. So, because of such a lineup, everyone thought that the director’s film with Suriya would be made with a gangster backdrop. However, Karthik made it clear that Suriya 44 is not a ghost film, and it is a love story with lots of action. He added that he had wanted to do a love story for a long time. Karthik stated that he pitched the script of the film to Suriya much before the release of Jigarthanda Double X.
Suriya 44 is slated to be released in the Summer of 2025, according to the words of Karthik Subbaraj in the latest interview. The film stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead, and this is her first Tamil movie after Beast (2022). Santhosh Narayanan is the film’s music composer, and it is backed by 2D Productions and Stone Bench Films banners.
