According to the official synopsis, Rashida Jones’s Sunny is a fresh, dark comedy, but the trailer gives the impression of a thrilling whodunnit. The upcoming show, starring Rashida Jones, will be available on Apple TV+. Recently, the streaming platform unveiled a new trailer for Sunny. The storyline revolves around Suzie, portrayed by Rashida Jones, an American woman residing in Japan. Her life takes a drastic turn when her husband and son vanish in a perplexing plane crash.

Upon receiving Sunny, a new line of household robots created by her spouse Masa (Hidetoshi Nishijima), she is puzzled as she had thought he was involved in refrigerator production at an electronics firm. Like the character Sunny in I, Robot, where Detective Spooner, played by Will Smith, takes time to accept the robot, Suzie initially rejects Sunny’s efforts to replace her loved ones. However, they form a bond over time and unravel the grim reality behind Suzie’s family’s disappearance together. The mystery thriller, consisting of 10 episodes, is set to debut on July 10 on Apple TV+. The premiere will feature two episodes, with new episodes released every Wednesday. This captivating series is an adaptation of the acclaimed book “The Dark Manual” by Colin O’Sullivan, an award-winning Irish writer residing in Japan.
