Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 created history at the Bollywood box office as it became the first ever Hindi film to cross the 600 crore net mark at the Indian box office. The film was released in August, and still it is getting significant footfalls after a stable run over one month. No one expected a small-budget film to create such havoc at the box office.
On Sunday, i.e., September 22, the horror comedy film managed to collect 5 crore net in India, taking its total net collection to 604 crore, and the gross will be around 713 crores. This is a monumental feat from Stree 2, and it has shattered all the expectations before the release. Being a sequel and getting released on a national holiday like Independence Day, Stree 2 was expected to bring good numbers, but none expected such an outstanding box office performance from the film. Stree 2 had 606 shows in the National Capital Region (NCR) and saw 31% occupancy, while in Mubai it saw 38.75% across 30 shows.
Written by Niren Bhatt, directed by Amar Kaushik, and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande, Stree 2 was released in theaters on August 15, 2024. Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor played the lead roles in the film. It also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshkakti Khurana in crucial roles. The film also stars Varun Dhawan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Akshay Kumar in cameos.
