In its Thirteen days of theatrical run, the horror comedy blockbuster Stree 2 faced a drop in the collections for the first time. Released on August 15th, this sequel to the 2018 release Stree received positive reviews from audiences and critics. The film became a massive blockbuster at the box office. On its second Tuesday (August 27), the film saw a slight dip in its numbers.
Stree 2 raised over 12 Crores net in India on its thirteenth day and the overall total of the film for 13 days will be over 434 Crores net. Despite heavy rains in most of the country, Stree 2 showed good consistency and collected a double-digit figure. The film’s numbers saw a nearly 20% drop in its collections from Monday. The film is performing very well in urban areas along with mass circuits.
Stree 2 is set in Chanderi and shows how the people face danger with Sarkata, a headless demon who kidnaps women who have progressive thinking. Rajkumar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor play the lead characters while Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi appear in supporting roles. The film also has cameos of Akshay Kumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Varun Dhawan. Amar Kaushik directed Stree 2. The film is a part of Maddock Films’ Supernatural Universe which was started with Stree (2018) and continued with Bhediya (2022) and Munjya (2024).
