Sonali Bendre talks about Feminism after Nora Fatehi’s Statement goes Viral

Nora Fatehi’s statement regarding feminism causing societal issues gained widespread attention recently. In a recent interview with Janice Sequeira, actors Sonali Bendre, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Shriya Pilgaonkar expressed their views on the matter. They emphasized that feminism advocates for equal rights for all genders and is not about denigrating males. The actors discussed these topics while promoting their upcoming web series, The Broken News Season 2.

During the interview, Shriya stated, “Many individuals have not taken the time to search for the true meaning of feminism. Feminism stands for equality, not superiority, and many people already align with feminist values without realizing it. Unfortunately, some refrain from identifying as feminists due to the misconception that it involves criticizing men.” Jaideep concurred with her viewpoint. Sonali expressed her views: “The term has acquired a negative association of ‘male-bashing’ that many of us find unsettling. I do not support ‘male-bashing.’ We strive for gender equality, seeking fairness rather than superiority. Any form of imbalance is undesirable. What we aim for is equilibrium, and when the scales tip without balance, issues arise.” It all started when Nora Fatehi said in a recent interview on The Ranveer Show that “Feminism. I don’t believe in this s**. In fact, I think feminism f** up our society completely… A lot of men now have also been brainwashed by the feminism era…if a man can work on being more of a provider and protector, the women can then focus on being more of the nurturer.”

Meanwhile, Sonali Bendre and Shriya Pilgaonker are all set to enthrall audiences with Vinay Vaikul’s directorial The Broken News 2. The film delves into the intricate connection between politicians and media and showcases their potential to shape the outcome of elections. The cast includes Indraneil Sengupta, Taaruk Raina, Faisal Rashid, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya. From May 3, viewers can catch The Broken News 2 on ZEE5.
