Son of Sardaar 2: Sanjay Dutt gets replaced by Ravi Kishan?

Son of Sardaar 2, the eagerly awaited action-comedy drama and sequel to the 2012 film Son of Sardaar, has faced considerable uncertainty since its announcement three months ago due to numerous casting changes and unresolved decisions. As of now, the film has yet to make substantial progress. A significant change in the production is the replacement of the leading lady, Mrunal Thakur, who will take over the role previously held by Sonakshi Sinha in the first installment.

Aside from the ongoing casting challenges, the production team has unveiled some truly unexpected developments. They have decided to exclude Sanjay Dutt from the sequel despite his role as the primary antagonist in the original film. Filming for the sequel began on July 24 in Scotland, and reports suggest that Dutt was unable to participate due to visa issues in the United Kingdom. His repeated visa denials are reportedly due to his criminal record. In 1993, he was convicted under the Army Act for possession of illegal firearms, which were associated with the Mumbai bombings, resulting in a five-year prison sentence. His conviction was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2013, and he completed his sentence in 2016.

In an unexpected development, it has come to light that Ravi Kishan has taken over the role previously held by Dutt in Son of Sardaar 2. Following his highly praised performance as the charming police officer Shyam Manohar in Laapataa Ladies, Kishan is set to deliver an impressive portrayal in the sequel featuring Ajay Devgn. The 54-year-old actor joined the production team of Son of Sardaar 2 on July 25 in the scenic landscapes of Scotland, prepared to embody a new character.
