Social Media Slams Mr. Bachchan and Double iSmart

The commercial subjects these days always hang in the balance, whether they could either reach a new level and become a blockbuster or falter and lead to heavy losses for the buyers. The key reason for this variability is that people come to watch films in theatres for entertainment. If a film has a special element, despite being commercially driven with the usual six songs and fights, it becomes a hit. Conversely, if there is nothing noteworthy, the outcome is the opposite.

Recently, a couple of anticipated commercial flicks, Ravi Teja’s Mr. Bachchan and Ram’s Double iSmart, have both turned out to be duds at the box office despite their long weekend releases. These films are now available for streaming on digital platforms, yet the criticism towards the filmmakers continues from fans and netizens alike.

Audiences are actively criticizing the filmmakers on social media for the lackluster scenes, targeting and slamming them for the poorly executed content. Interestingly, both Mr. Bachchan and Double iSmart were directed by masters of commercial formats—Harish Shankar and Puri Jagannath, respectively—who failed to deliver. The dialogues from both films are being heavily trolled online.

Mr. Bachchan is streaming on Netflix, while Double iSmart is available on Amazon Prime.
