Hero Ram’s high-energy performance and Boyapati Sreenu’s expertise in mass action entertainers came together in Skanda, a film that was anticipated with great excitement. However, the movie, despite its promising pre-release buzz and the inclusion of the talented Sreeleela, left the audience disappointed with its below average performance at the box office.
Though Skanda had all the required elements to be a perfect mass entertainer, the weak emotional quotient and silly, over-the-top feel in most of the parts of the film did not go well with audiences. Skanda’s journey is far from over. Even after nearly a year since its release, the film continues to dominate the charts. The Hindi version of the film, also named Skanda, has crossed the 100 million views mark on YouTube. Within just over a month of its YouTube debut, the film has garnered an impressive 1.1 million likes. With such promising numbers, the future looks bright for Skanda. WamIndia Movies released Skanda’s Hindi version on June 17, 2024.
The movie starred Bollywood actress Saiee Manjrekar, veteran actor Srikanth, Prince Cecil, and others in pivotal roles. Thaman composed the film’s music. Srinivasa Chitturi produced the film under the Srinivasa Silver Screens banner.
