Ajay Devgn has every reason to be delighted. His latest film, Shaitaan, a gripping psychological thriller, has been performing exceptionally well at the box office. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the movie features R Madhavan and Jyotika in prominent roles and has received positive feedback from the audience. Particularly, R Madhavan’s portrayal as the main antagonist has garnered widespread praise. The film has collected 106 Crores net in India for 10 days.
Despite the widespread opinions surrounding Shaitaan, its success story is best told through the box office numbers. It is worth mentioning that Shaitaan commenced its box office journey with an impressive collection of Rs 15 crores net on its opening day. The movie experienced a remarkable surge in numbers over the first weekend. However, there was a noticeable decline in numbers on the following Monday. Surprisingly, despite the decrease, Shaitaan dominated the box office on the second weekend. Despite releasing two new films, Yodha, starring Sidharth Malhotra, and Bastar: The Naxal Story, starring Adah Sharma, Shaitaan remains unaffected by the competition.
On its 10th day, Shaitaan crossed double digits, which is a rarity nowadays. That, too, is an excellent achievement for a thriller film that does not have the proper formulaic elements. Overall, in the theatrical run of 10 days, Shaitaan collected 106 Crores net and 125 Crores gross in India. The film also crossed the magical 150-gross Mark at the worldwide box office. The trade experts anticipate the film will collect 150 Cr in India in its full run.
