Severance: The SCI-FI Psychological thriller will arrive on OTT in 2025

Severance, the science fiction psychological thriller developed by Dan Erickson and helmed by Ben Stiller and Aoife McArdle, is set to return for its second season. Premiering in 2022, the initial 9-episode season acquainted viewers with the staff of Lumon Industries, a biotech company that experiences a procedure dividing their work-related and personal memories. The series has been greenlit for a sophomore season, with an official release date now confirmed. Severance Season 2 is scheduled to debut on Apple TV+ on January 17, 2025.

Adam Scott plays the role of Mark Scout, an ex-educator who decides to undergo severance following the death of his spouse. In the finale of Season 1, he discovers a plot at Lumon. The cast includes Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramel Tillman, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, Christopher Walken, and more. The initial season achieved great success, receiving a total of 14 Emmy nominations. Ben Stiller is back as the director and has taken charge of 5 out of the ten episodes in Season 2. The teaser released on July 10 doesn’t provide much insight into what to expect, especially after the first season’s cliffhanger ending. However, Apple’s official statement reveals that Mark and his friends will face the consequences of tampering with the severance barrier, leading them into a troublesome situation. Season 2 of Severance will air from January 17 to March 21, with new episodes dropping every Friday.

Apple TV+ has recently wrapped up the initial season of the science fiction series Dark Matter and is gearing up to reintroduce Silo in the upcoming second season. The forthcoming lineup features shows such as Lady in the Lake, the Instigators, Bad Monkey, Pachinko (season 2), Time Bandits, Me, and more.
